This past week I picked up a Ray ring flash, something I’ve been looking into for quite sometime(A non powered ring flash). Although many say the Orbis ring flash is far superior, I decided to go for the Ray ring flash because of it’s portability. I need something I can setup and shoot and move with ease. The Orbis ring flash with the arm bar just wasn’t what I was looking for, but I won’t rule out getting one and/or an ABR-800. Anyway, I took some shots this weekend and was my first time using it on some subjects at a party I hosted. See my results below. I really had trouble balancing the light at a good EV value and not over-exposing my shot, but once I shot more and more, I believe I found the look I wanted. Still a learning curve here!
