IN MEMORADUM
Living in the east end, I pass by the “Zachary Taylor Memorial” nearly everyday without a blink of an eye. But, within the past few weeks, it’s been catching my eye. I thought it would be a great place to shoot, with the proper sun. So I waited. Then one afternoon, I took a chance with the clouds and went out. It turned out to be an experience I didn’t expect. I was in this place all alone with thousands of headstones in memorandum for our fallen soldiers of every war. It was a very sobering reminder of the price our fellow Americans have paid for our freedom’s today. I went through the place with a swiftness and captured some shots, but I really didn’t want to disturb anyone or anything, so I went on my way. Not to mention the back of the yard is an actual cemetery, which being all alone at dusk has the tendency to creep you out.
